When Ostendio was founded roughly 10 years ago, I wanted to build a work culture that could not be taken for granted. Since day 1, we have placed giving back at the core of our company. In addition to providing staff with 6 volunteer leave days a year, we also encourage staff to donate to organizations that are meaningful to them. We are proud to match contributions up to $1,000 per employee. I am proud of the involvement of staff this year in reaching our goals. We have helped many worthy causes and we do not plan to stop here. This is an important endeavor, and we must continue to look for more and better ways to help others.
Ostendio staff reported over 250 volunteers hours in 2022.

In 2022, Ostendio sponsored two fundraising walks. Food for Others is the largest distributor of free food directly to people in need in Northern Virginia, providing the assistance vitally needed by our unemployed and low-income neighbors. The Mattie Miracle Walk supports children with cancer and their families.

In the book, The Mission Corporation, authors Michael T. Moe and Michael M. Carter explain the idea of a Mission Corporation company as one which re-examines capitalism and how companies can be profitable and also be a force for good. Companies commit to the seven declarations of a Mission Corporation including equity for all employees, employee time off to volunteer, establishing core values, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and development of the skills of team members. Ostendio is proud to be a Mission Corporation company.
Pledge 1% is a global movement that encourages and empowers companies of all sizes and stages to donate 1% of their staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to any charity of their choosing.
Ostendio is proud to be a Pledge 1% member and in addition to direct donations, we provide the Ostendio platform for free or at a reduced price to qualifying non-profits and give our employees paid time off to volunteer.
