1.    What is your favorite part of working at our company?

Ostendio has a culture of being effective, removing red tape, and encouraging authenticity.  The people at Ostendio make it exciting to work towards our common goals and are powered by world-class collaboration.  Pair this culture with our mature platform that is poised for mainstream adoption and the sky isn't even the limit.  We're launching the rocket ship!

2.    What do you like most about the work we do here?

We are genuinely helping organizations achieve their goals for security and compliance.  Effective programs start with a solid platform, which is what Ostendio has created.  There are no tricks or gimmicks to our platform or process.  We consult with our clients to the best of our ability to show them the problems they are experiencing and how we can be their partner to solve those problems.

3.    What are you most proud of in your career so far?

Immediately after college, I worked as an entry-level lead generator with $15 in my bank account.  I have steadily expanded my responsibilities to include running teams and businesses, leveraging the experiences I had along the way.  My mindset is always looking forward while remembering the lessons of the past, and I am most proud of my continuous improvement to my processes to be effective.  I am still getting better each day.

4.    How would you describe your company culture?

GET S#!T DONE!  We recognize the need to be effective above everything else.  This means putting yourself in the customer's shoes, understanding their problem, and efficiently solving it.  Nobody has time to waste, so expediting everything from evaluating the platform to sending contracts, needs to happen from a customer-first mindset.  Customers are our greatest asset, and we serve them.

5.    What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I grew up a punk-rocker, and still am in my 30's.  I have played in bands for 15+ years, been signed to a DIY label, on tour, released albums, and almost pursued a "career" in music had I not started in IT security.  I am grateful that I have kept my passion for music by doing it as a hobby instead of a job.  I decompress by screaming at the top of my lungs with my best friends in the studio, making ears ring, and seeing people dance and sing along.  If you think I can be loud on the job, I encourage you to see me at a show.

6.    If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

My superpower would be having the energy of 1,000 toddlers (or at least 2).  I watch my daughters bounce off the walls from the time they wake up until bedtime and am envious of their battery life.

7.    What energizes and drains you when you’re at work?

I am energized by helping others, whether that is with our internal teams or our clients.  I'm known for telling everyone to reach out *anytime* including nights, weekends, and holidays.  I love helping colleagues unlock their potential, and helping our clients to solve their security and compliance challenges with our platform.  

As for what drains me....translating my notebook into CRM updates is draining.  Sorry Grant, I'm working on it!

8.    Name a role model who has inspired you in your career

My father has been the main source of inspiration for my career.  He's been in sales his entire career, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  I can recognize and respect the sacrifices he made during my upbringing by balancing work, travel, and family to provide me with an incredible foundation.  As the head of my household, my ultimate goal is to provide the same foundation and inspiration for my two daughters and be the best husband to my wife, Shelly.  My father instilled the values of a strong work ethic, empathy, and responsibility which are major factors in my success.
